AS THE SUN RISES IN THE  EAST……………

Greetings my Brethren,

We are heading into our third month of the year and the Lodge is very busy. With Bro. Severino prepping himself for the third degree, School Of Instruction calendared for the year and a new floor for the dining room. Our work crew moved the display cases into the hallway and table and chairs into the storage room which made way for Jones Bros to do their work. It all should be completed by the 10th.

SEE PHOTOS ON PAGE 6

I will be looking forward to May as we prepare for a dinner to host three candidates. I have selected two brethren to receive Mason of the Year award and another as Hiram Award recipient. This will be the first time the Lodge will celebrate all three awards at our Lodge. In the past we have traveled to Santa Rosa on a Friday to honor our Mason of the Year. But now we are looking forward to celebrating these honors with family and friends. So please join us in celebration of these achievements in May. Announcement of my selection will be conducted at the stated meeting on the 13th. The date of the dinner will also be chosen during the same time.

The Lodge will be conducting the second degree practice during the School of Instruction at our Lodge on the 20th. I am asking all Officers to start preparing themselves. Other Lodges will be visiting us so don’t let your Lodge down by not being ready with words and floor work.

Again I would like to thank all who have participated in the degree work, clean up around the Lodge and finally with preparation in the kitchen. It may seem like small tasks that are routine but your efforts and support do not go unnoticed. You are the strength of Suisun Lodge and should be very proud of all the work you have put forth. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Worshipful Master Dennis Kalis

FOR THE GOOD OF THE LODGE……..

Dear Brothers:

I hope that your lodge is feeling vibrant and productive going into the spring season. Thanks to each of you for all that you do to keep our fraternity strong. I have a number of announcements that I hope you will take to heart as you plan your schedule over the coming month and year.

  • March 2018 is Youth Orders Month. Please read the Youth Orders Month Proclamation aloud and consider how your lodge can participate.

  • Next month is Public Schools Month. Please read the Public Schools Month Proclamation aloud and plan a celebration with your lodge. The February issue of The Leader has several ideas for how you can participate.
  • This is the last month to register for the 2018 Ritual Competition. The registration deadline is April 1. This year's competitions focus on delivery of the marshal's interrogations and perambulations of all three degrees. Registration is available at freemason.org/RitualAwards.
  • Register soon for the UCLA International Conference on Freemasonry, taking place April 7 in Los Angeles. This year's topic is: "Secular Enlightenment: Balancing Faith and Masonic Virtues." We will learn how Masons balanced their ideas of religious freedom and tolerance amidst imperialistic societies in which religion was at the forefront. Register at freemason.org/UCLA.
  • The California Masonic Symposium will focus on "California's Masonic Pioneers." Catch it June 9 in San Francisco or June 10 in our new location, Long Beach. Past Grand Masters John L. Cooper III and R. Stephen Doan will be among the speakers. Register at freemason.org/symposium.

Thank you for mentioning all of these efforts at your stated meetings.
